In-Person Adult Mental Health First Aid

Confidently recognize & respond to someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. Provide a strong connection and early intervention. Learn to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use. Gain skills to provide initial support and connect adults to appropriate care.

Coursework includes:

  • SMC Application and Pre MHFA evaluations completed together at the beginning of the instructor-led skill-based session

  • Participation in the Instructor-led skill-based session

  • SMC Post-Evaluation & Post MHFA evaluations and Quiz to receive MHFA Certification

Important Information:

  • Must be 18 years and older to register

  • Participants are required to complete all required coursework to receive First Aider Certification

  • First Aid Certification expires in 3 years. A renewal link will be sent to the email used to register

  • Participants are required to attend a minimum of 90% of the course and engage in at least 70% of the activities to qualify for a certificate.
